Heathrow operates Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5, each with its own short stay car parks. Long stay and business car parks are served by shuttle buses, and many independent operators run off-site parking along the Bath Road and surrounding area.
Types of airport parking
- Short stay – closest to the terminal, best for pick-ups and short trips, usually the most expensive per day.
- Long stay – official car parks a short shuttle ride away, normally better value for trips of several days.
- Meet and greet – a driver collects your car at the terminal and returns it when you land.
- Off-site park and ride – independent car parks outside the airport boundary with a transfer bus.
Drop-off and pick-up
Heathrow charges a fee for driving into the forecourt drop-off zones at every terminal. Check the official Heathrow website for current charges and how to pay, as unpaid charges can result in a penalty.
Before you book
- Check which terminal your airline uses on the day of travel.
- Allow time for shuttle transfers, especially at peak times.
- Confirm the provider's cancellation terms and what happens if your flight is delayed.
- Check the provider is accredited – for example under the British Parking Association's Park Mark scheme.
